Guru  Poornima Celebrations in New Jersey, July 24th – July 25th 2010

Guru Poornima Celebrations were held in New Jersey on the July 24th & July 25th in the Divine presence of His Holiness Bhagwan Sri Sri Sri Viswayogi Viswamjee Maharaj in a very grand manner.

On July 24th a fundraiser was organized by SVVFUIP & Telugu Fine Arts Society of New Jersey. The function featured a Kuchipudi Dance Ballet titled “Sarvam Sai Mayam” by Padmasri Dr. Shobha Naidu & her troop.  This dance ballet depicted the life and teachings of Shirdi Sai Baba. This function was followed by an award and felicitation ceremony which was attended by local politicians and eminent citizens. Among those present and honored by Swamiji for their contributions to the society were Mayor of Edison, Ms. Antonia Ricigliano, Sergeant Raymond Trigg, New Brunswick police department, Congressman Mr. Frank Palone, Mr. Dave Caldwell, Anand Paluri, TFAS  President and Dr. Nori Dattatreyudu, Chairman & Director, oncology, Queens Hospital, and is also Chairman, International Advisory Board for Viswayogi Institute of Medical Sciences(VIMS).

Speaking on the occasion Swamiji said that there is a great need today to follow the teaching of Shirdi Sai, which alone can bring peace in the world. Swamiji added that it was Divine will that this dance ballet was performed on the eve of Guru Poornima.

On July 25th Guru Poornima celebrations were held in Shirdi Sai Mandir in Iselin, New Jersey. Saamohika

Paada Pooja and Viswa Datta vratam were performed by devotees. This was followed by Swamiji’s divine discourse and a cultural program where children participated in dance and music programs.

During the discourse Swamiji emphasized the need for Guru in our daily life and said that in reality each and every person, plants, animals and even inanimate objects have to be looked upon as Guru, as there is something we have to learn from everyone and everything in this universe.

Under the guidance of Swamiji, Guru Poornima is also celebrated as Mothers Day as mother is the first Guru  for each and every person. God’s blessing and grace will be on us only if we respect and worship the mother. Swamiji said anything is attainable for a person by chanting of mantra with devotion and grace of Guru.

Swamiji added that these days’ Intellectual power and nature are not going hand in hand. Man is acting against nature and this is causing turmoil in today’s world. For the benefit of mankind the Divine knowledge or Universal consciousness incarnates as Guru, He fills his heart with infinite love, takes the suffering of those who have faith in him, serves them and leads the person on the path of divinity.

Earlier in March 2010, during Swamiji’s Birthday celebrations Swamiji launched Divine vision 2020 for Universal Integration & Peace, and said that it is responsibility of everyone to take this vision to each and every heart to make this world an abode of peace by 2020.

The Guru Poornima celebrations were attended by devotees from all parts of the USA.
