Divine March for Universal Integration & Peace in the USA

(June 19^th to November 6^th 2004)

 His Holiness Bhagwan Sri Sri Sri Viswayogi Viswamjee began his Divine March for Universal Integration & Peace in the USA after reaching Seattle on the 19^th June 2004.

Swamiji visited many cities and towns in many states of the USA. In addition to the formal and informal discussions at the residences of some devotees. Devotees also celebrated Swamiji’s 60^th birthday, when Swamiji was physically present in their area. Some of the important events and meetings during Swamiji’s visit are :

• Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on the 18^th September 2004, Swamiji addressed devotees at the Hindu temple, in Bothell, and spoke at length on the importance of Ganesh Chaturthi. Satsang and Datta vratam were held at the residence of Madhuri & Madhu Babu on the 19^th September 2004. Swamiji’s shasti poorthi celebrations were also held on this day.
• Swamiji met with the Mayor of Tumwater Mr. Ralph Osgood and discussed with him His views on Universal Integration and world peace, its importance in todays world and how to bring about the same.
• Guru Poornima celebrations were held in Chicago, and devotees from various parts gathered there  and  offered their respects and devotion on July 2^nd. Swamiji also met with the Officials in Mayors office, the Assistant Mayor and First Alderman of City Council of Chicago. Swamiji also delivered discourses in the University town of Urbana. Swamiji was also interviewed by India Tribune and College News during His stay in Chicago.
• Swamiji addressed a gathering at Sai Prayer cener in Minneapolis.
• During His visit to Maryland, Swamiji inaugurated the World Vedic Conference, at University of Maryland. Swamiji also met with officials in Insitute of Peace in Wasington, the Secretary of State,  Maryland and officials of National Institute of Health and shared his vision and ideas on Universal integration and Peace.
• In Atlanta Swamiji met with Mayor of Duluth, Ms.Shirley Fanning-Lasseter.
• Swamiji delivered discourses at North America Shirdi Sai Temple of Atlanta and at Shree Shakti Mandir, Atlanta.
• In Texas Swamiji met with the Mayor of  Richardson.
• Swamiji addressed students in North Carolina State University and Duke university in North Carolina.
• Swamiji’s message of Universal Integration and Peace was well received during a special meeting of  Inter-Faith Council delegates and other devotees organized by the Hindu Society of North East Florida at the Hindu Temple in Jacksonville. Swamiji’s discourse was preceded by Christian, Budhist, Hindu and Islamic Prayers. Prof Harry Rothschild of University of North Florida, in his introductory remarks, talked about his experience with Swamiji and Swamiji’s message of Universal Integration. He recalled that during 2003 Divine March, even the normally restless students also listened to Swamiji’s message with rapt attention.
• Swamiji delivered divine discourses at Shirdi Sai temple in Columbus and Bharatiya Hindu temple in Cleveland.
• Swamiji met with Honorable Mr. Upendra Chivukula, Assemblyman, New Jersey and Mr. Brian Levine, Mayor, Franklin township, New Jersey.
• Al Pinheiro, Mayor of Gilroy and Dennis Kennedy, Mayor of Morgan Hill met Swamiji and extended their full support for the Universal Integration Mission.  The Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown and powerful California senator Barbara Boxer sent their Greetings to Swamiji and received blessings.   Swamiji addressed devotees at various places such as temples, the Indian Community Center, Morgan Hill Community Center, Sai Center, and the UC Berkeley campus. In Los Angles, Swamiji gave a divine discourse at Malibu Temple and visited to the local Buddha temple.  At this Buddha temple Swamiji was received with traditional honor by the Grand Master.  The Grand Master and Swamiji exchanged their views and common vision for the Universal integration Mission.  Swamiji in his message mentioned that we need the preaching’s/teachings of Buddha as a solution for all sufferings.
• Swamiji gave His Morgan Hill Peace Declaration, in City of Morgan Hill, CA.
• Navarathri celebrations followed by Vijaya Dashami Celebrations on  October 23^rd2004  were held in a grand and traditional way.

Swamiji concluded His Divine March for Universal Integration & peace in the United States on November 6^th 2004 and returned back to India.

Swamiji said that “Forgetting all our differences and working unitedly is the only way to adhere to Sanaatana Dharma and pay our gratitude to the Rishies of Sanaatana Dharma. It is not enough to worship and offer prayers to the Guru, it is more important for us to make His goal as our goal, His aim as our aim and work  for  it, thereby strengthening ourselves, the society and the world.” According to Swamiji this is the real Guru dakshina we can offer to Him.
