In the midst of Guru is situated the Universe.
In the midst of the Universe is located the Guru.
Guru is Universe, Universe and Guru are not different. Salutations to the Guru.

The Lord of the Universe is shining in the Universe, the Universe thus shines in the Lord.
If the Lord does not shine, the Universe does not shine.
The interwoven affinity of the Lord and the Universe is permanent.

The entire universe is made of the greatest power of God. Of the whole creation of God, human being is the special creation. God has given knowledge only to human being, that every other living being lacks. Human being should put to proper use this knowledge given to him by God, and realize that the entire universe is one.

I am extremely happy today. I am not thinking that I am in a strange place. I feel exactly the same way in the US as I would feel in India. A journalist in New York asked me as to what I feel about the US trip. I replied that it is like entering another room of the same house. The entire universe is one single home. All countries are rooms of a single home. If you ask the owner of a house, as to which room of the house he likes better. It is difficult to answer as you would love the whole house that you own. Similarly India and America are no different to me in any way. During my tour, when I met different people of Indian origin settled here, I ask them to love America just as they would love India. It is important to bring the two countries together. The two countries should unite in order to be able to serve the entire humanity and do well to the entire society. The most important thing is Universal Integration and peace. I am extremely happy to be here in Oregon University, I feel as if I am in Viswamandiram in Guntur, India.

The Journalist asked me another question, as to how is it possible for me to unite all the people, when there are so many different people of different religions, backgrounds etc. I will unite all the people on the basis of Humanity. You could belong to any religion, you could do any work you want, but we should all believe in one single principle that humanity comes first, then comes your initial preference of religion or anything else. If someone asks you a question "Who are you ?" . You should not say I am an Indian or American, or a Hindu or Christian. You should feel very proud and declare that you are a human being, then identify as an Indian, or Hindu etc, it does not matter.

A journalist asked me if Spirituality means the same to everyone. Suppose an epidemic breaks out in a city, all patients are brought to the hospital. Are the doctors asking the patients to be separated on the basis of Nation or religion? Do they treat people based on background or treating everyone similarly? For the same illness they give the same treatment to everyone. Similarly spirituality is unique, irrespective of religion or background. What does spirituality do to us ? It makes humans powerful. Spirituality helps us to get divine blessing of God and gets radiation imbibed into our body and mind, and transforms us into a cosmic power.

If asked a question Which is GOD? Where is GOD ? How is GOD ? What is form of GOD? Consider the word GOD

G stands for Generator

O stands for Organiser

D stands for Destroyer (merges everything into one)

Only one power does the three of these things. Consider the whole situation logically in a scientific manner. Imagine we are going away from the earth into space. When we cross all atmospheric levels and view the earth, we see a spherical shape. If you go beyond that zone you will see several such spheres orbiting the sun. If you go further you will see a nebula. The Solar system is a part of the nebula. There are several nebulas if you go further up. The entire universe moves in an orderly fashion. The entire universe revolves according to single universal principle. What makes this universe to exist or move ? That is Cosmo Electromagnetic power. Indians call it Adi Shakti or Sriman Narayana or Yahova or Allah or Atheists call it some super human power. Wahtever it is, there is nothing but the divine universal power that is holding entire universe together, and there is abundance of knowledge flowing through entire universe. That is Truth. Truth is knowledge and knowledge is truth. How does knowledge exist ? Truth is flowing as knowlegde in the universe, that is the divine form of God(Brahma) the universal power. The cosmic mind - the knowledge that flows from this universal power keeps this universe going. Even scientists agree that this is the universal mind or power.

The whole universe, like a human being, has a mind of its own, it is called cosmic mind or universal mind. When we unite our heart or mind with universal heart or mind, that is yoga. Person who understands this and practices this is a yogi. Our goal of life should be to achieve this union to attain moksha or salvation. Sole purpose of every religion is to make man realise the unity of mind and help him to turn into a good individual.

All of you should open your hearts and try to understand what I say. Try to change your own life by realizing that the goal is to seek universal integration of human mind and universal mind. The main purpose of every religion is to get you closer to Almighty God, realizing the Supreme God. Try to analyse the reason for the existence of different religions, the reason for people to look different from each other. This is mainly because we are located in different parts of the world. Different places have a different name, and you are known by the region you belong. If you are born in India you are an Indian. If you are born in America you are an American. Only land gives you identification, otherwise all are same. There ends the difference. Though you are in different countries, does it mean that you should not be in unity with each other.

The supreme source to entire universe is the Mother Earth. When there is a calamity or crisis, or reason for people to forget compassion and humanity towards fellow beings, then God sends a Yogi to relieve the entire humanity. Sole purpose of yogi's is to put us on righteous path and unite us as one single family. In their own way by love, or by compassion, by affection or by miracles they unite the whole humanity. Jesus Christ, Buddha, Nanak, Allah are such Gurus. Religions have been formed when these Yogi's disappear from their human body. We human beings form a religion, believe in their teachings, and follow the teachings. That is how all religions have been formed. But the aim of all Yogi's is the same to put us on the right path. It does not mean that you should not honor another persons religion, because all religions teach the same thing. You might belong to one religion because you follow the teachings of a particular Guru, but it does not mean that other religions are less or small.

Imagine a very hot summer day in this university. All the people are very thirsty. A professor here has a jugs full of water, and glasses. One person says "water", a Tamil speaking person comes and says "Thanni", a Hindi speaking person says "Paani", a Kannada speaking person says "Neeru", and a Telugu speaking person says "Neellu". Similarly other people come speaking their own language. Each person is speaking a different language, but all want the same water. After forming a line they see each others face. The water was right in front of them, they could have taken it and quenched their thirst. Instead they are looking at each other, and started fighting with each other about language. The professor will stop the fight. She calls an American, and asks him in English, as to why he came there. He said he was very thirsty. She gave him a glass of water, he had enough to quench his thirst. Next she called the Hindi person and asked him in Hindi as to why he had come there. He replied in Hindi that it was very hot, and he was very thirsty.She gave him a glass of water. Similarly she spoke to all the other people in their own languages, but she gave them the same thing "water". All were satisfied after drinking the water. She gave them the message that the water is same, even if they refer it to in any language. Similarly God is one, by whatever name you call him. Then a small ignorant child who does not know how to speak comes and drinks the same water. Similarly Love of God is shown to everyone, irrespective of Language or Religion. She told them that they were so close to water, and yet they were fighting instead of just picking up that water and drinking. All people were ashamed of themselves. Similarly, although we are so close to Supreme God, it is out of our own foolish belief in our individual ego, that we are different, and we are unable to achieve the supreme goal of being inunion with one single powerin the universe, and we are destroying ourselves in this process. So I always sing this song :

God is One, God is One, God is one for Everyone

God is here, God is there, God God Everywhere

God is Rama, God is Krishna, God is Jesus, God is Buddha

God is One, God is One, God is one for Everyone.

There is only one God for the entire Universe, he is Omnipresent and Omnipotent.

There is only one religion, the religion of Love.

There is only one caste, the caste of Humanity.

There is only one language, the language of the Heart.

There is only one law, the law of Duty

This must be the motto of each and every person on the earth.

It is only when we realize that there is only one God, one Religion, one Caste, one Language and one Law, we will achieve union with God, and be good human beings.

The entire universe is like a spiritual university. I got this feeling after I stepped into this campus. The Chancellor of the university is the Supreme Lord. Assume he has 72 Gurus in his senate. Each and every religion is a college in the university, which is affiliated to that university (In the Indian system, every university has a number of colleges associated it), and are governed by the rules of the university. You can join any college you want to. Whichever college you go to the University sets the syllabus, conducts exams etc. All colleges are the same. Similarly we all belong to different countries and religions, but we are affiliated to the same universe. We should all strive very hard to imbibe good qualities of our own individual religions and transform ourselves into good individuals.

We are all giving importance to the college and forgetting the university, If the university doesn't recognise the college, the college will not exist. Every religion preaches only good. Every religion teaches us to be on the righteous path to get close to God. Jesus Christ said "Love Thy Neighbour as Thyself". He did not just say, Love thy neighbour, instead you should love him just as you love yourself.You are identically equal to your neighbour. The power dwelling in your body is identical to the power dwelling in your neighbours' body. This is what Adi Shankaracharya, in India called as Advaita. All life forms have exact same "God Power" in them. If you see in a mirror, you will see only yourself, like wise you should see others. All religions of the world teach Love, Love and Love Break the "Hrid Grandhi"(Bad feelings in the heart) to become one with God. When Love replaces Hatred in the heart, man transforms into a good individual, and with Love comes closer to God. universities. All universities should impart such universal education, only then they can be called University. They should guide us to become not just an individual, but an individual one with the Universe. His thinking should not be limited, he should have an universal outlook, i.e be broad minded and treat the entire universe as one single family

Character is Education and Education is Character. The university should be able to mould individual into having an excellent character. Through religion or otherwise, release stress and strain from mind of individuals, and ease them. I am not asking you to give up Materialism. Materialism is important, but spirituality should be mixed with this. When body and mind unite, soul has meaning. When your soul is gone the body is useless. If you don't have a body, people might see a spirit. Body and soul are equally important, and should coexist. When these are in union we will be able to do good to humanity. Human body can be compared to an electric bulb, and spirituality can be compared to current flowing through the bulb. When current flows through bulb it glows. When current flows through a fan it gives air, when it flows through an electric stove it becomes flame or fire. If a person wants only current and none of the appliances, it is useless. The current if he touches it will give him a shock. Similarly, Materialism and Spirituality are both equally needed, the education imparted should preach both importance of Materialism and spirituality. It is not enough to become a doctor or engineer, we should also have a good character. Sri Sathya Sai Baba has said that "Education without character is not only useless, but also dangerous". The reason for miseries in this world is not lack of knowledge, but because of educated people without character. I was once questioned, that I was giving more importance to intellectuals or professionals. I asked that person, "Is the "Electric Bulb" very Good"?, He said "Yes" . I asked him what he is reminded of when he sees it. He replied, that he was just seeing the "bulb". I told him when I see an electric bulb, I am instantly reminded of Thomas Alva Edison. As soon as you see a radio, you should think of Marconi. If you go to Princeton University, you should be reminded of Albert Einstein. When we are deriving pleasure out of things invented by such intellectuals, we are indebted to them, and we should give importance to them. During Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombing, Einstein uttered the Sloka from the Bhagvad Gita, which describes Sri Krishna showing his Supreme Form(Viswa Roopa Darshanam) to Arjuna. So imagine how spirituality is imbibed into intellectuals, hence we have to respect them.

Science has brought the whole world closer, but there is a huge difference or distance between two individual minds. Why? This is because material knowledge in man is not in union with spiritual knowledge. Why is man not at peace, though he has all comforts, money etc. You should think about this!. The power which discovered so many inventions, is not able to give man, peace on earth. Only when all scientists get together, and declare that the result of discoveries will only be used for promotion of peace and good of humanity. Entire universe is like a school, and it is teaching us a lot. The universal order is being followed by all life forms e.g. all planets, plants, animals etc. but not by man. His ability to think is being misused, causing misery. We are not following rules in eating habits, we are not following rules of family life. That is why there are so many new diseases, which doctors are not able to analyze.

Embodiments of love
Body is like a temple, and Heart is altar of God. So keep body and mind clean, healthy and pure. Practice Yoga. Try to become strong physically and intellectually. Every individual and family should try to have the following five strengths - Physical, Mental, Financial, Social and Spiritual strengths. It is necessary to have a Sound Mmind and Sound Body. We should not neglect the financial aspect. To do good to humanity we need wealth. Wealth does not mean only Money. In India, Lakshmi is worshipped in eight different forms for wealth and prosperity. Someone said to me that 'India is a pure country'. I say all countries are very pure. World is very pure. Human being and Human Mmind isare very pure, but we are polluting it, so we don't have peace. We are also polluting minds of students, children and youth. Everything will be fine if we don't pollute minds. To save ourselves from polluting our own minds, concentration or meditation will help. Concentrate on God or Power that you believe in, and you will get strength not to pollute yourself and surroundings. Self confidence and self discipline are very important. Together they give you self control . With self control you get self satisfaction. Then you have self realization . When you have self realization, you realize that self is one, and you automatically get self sacrifice, as now there is no self involved. There is only one thing in everything

When I was traveling in a car in New York, I heard some one say "There is nothing, There is nothing". There is no nothing. There is something in nothing, there is something in everything. There is one thing in everything, that one thing is "GOD", that is "I". When we all believe that all I's are one that is Universal Integration

I was once asked if Yogi's don't eat food. I was also asked if I had not taken anything for 21 years, when I did penance. I told him not to believe that. No one can survive without taking food. Yogi's may not be eating food with their mouth, but they are taking real valuable food, they are eating food of knowledge.

Let us analyze what food is. Food is Rice, or Bread or Pizza, we eat it and call it food. The food goes inside, gets assimilated and the waste goes out of the system. The nutrients in the food are absorbed by the blood stream, and pump energy into you and give you life. Scientists also believe that because of this energy, you can remain alive even if you don't eat for a few days.

What are the yogis doing? The yogis are directly taking nutrients from atmosphere. How is this possible? What are the plants doing? The plants absorb Carbon dioxide discarded by us. It gets nutrients from all the excreta we give, in the form of manure. It makes fruit from all the waste we give to it. After all, a plant is able to absorb all that is a waste to us, and giving us food. This means there is a way to transform all energy from universe into productive food that yogis take. Yogis don't need physical food, they get energy from atmosphere, with their minds.

It is important to understand this universal principle. All intellectuals like you , should grow out of our feelings for individual religion, caste and country, and try to unite the whole world into one single family. Declare that the whole world is a universal family. India and the United States should get closer to each other to be able to promote the mission of integrating the whole world as one family.

Someone said America is a materialistic country. I said America is - "Mans minds miracle". It is a place, where you can see the individual intellect taking a physical form. It is a living example of how knowledge can be used to get materialistic wealth. So strive to unite people of entire world. First transform man, make your minds peaceful, make the family strong, then society will automatically become strong. Many people are trying to reform society, and they are not successful. Why is this so ? That's because people forget about themselves and the family. It is important to transform yourself and the family, then the society will be reformed.

The terrorism and, miseries of the world can be conquered by our love, when we all unite as a single family. The bad guys are not scared, only the good person is scared. We should try to unite the goodness of all people. We should try to inculcate good human values into all people. We should try to help everyone try to be good. 95% of people are good. 5% of bad people are able to scare 95% of good people. When 95% of the people unite, then the bad 5% will be absorbed into the 95%, and they are transformed into good individuals, and peace will prevail in the world.

You should be money minded, but there should be a limit. Here is an example of how money minded a person can be. One person comes home, calls his wife and tells her, "I have something, and it will do you good". He tells her that he got life insurance for 1 million dollars. The wife asks him, as to what she could gain out of it. He tells her that incase of any unforeseen event of his death, she would get the money. She said , "Am I so fortunate". It does not mean that she wants her husband to die. Realize the real meaning here. Money dominates the mind so much, that it can corrupt it. In reality she would want her husband only, not any money or anything else. Even today, you want your children to be doctors or engineers, because of the money they can earn by becoming doctors or engineers. This is money mindedness. You should never become slaves of money, but you should have control over money.

You should all fill your hearts with love, share love and give out love, and try to unite people of the entire world into one single family. That should be the goal of your lives.

Lastly , one more thing, the next century is going to be a golden era for entire world. Terrorism will substantially reduce in the world. Especially, India will emerge as a strong nation. India and United States will unite, and transform the world into a Prashanti Nilayam (Abode of peace). The heart of the universe is India. The head of the universe is America, it will implement ideas in the heart . When there is spirituality in the heart, the heart functions well, and so does the brain. When heart and mind are in union, and work together the whole body works well. It is important to achieve Universal Integration to achieve Universal Peace. For this all people, all intellectuals, all spiritual people should unite. A day will come when such a thing will happen, and for this my blessings are with you all.

I will keep you all on my hearts, when I go back to India. I feel the warmness of your hearts. The entire universe can be transformed into a temple of peace, only when all of you preach universal education, oneness of all religions and cultures, and promote universal integration.
