CHAPTER - 14
HARBINGER OF HOPE OF DEVOTEES
“Viswa Mandiram is Hospital. Very many patients arrive here. After they are cured they return to their places. Those who are cured would not hang on to the hospital. Is it not? New people visit this place”. There were the hallowed utterances of Sri Viswamji. An imponderable aspect is that former visitors and devotees are not coming now why? It is not an understandable question. In this curative institution, (Hospital) Doctors, Compounders, Nurses are all old devotees and service doers. Only the patients are new people. If old patients get sick again, they again come to this hospital. “Those stricken with dire need, seekers of fortune and wealth are immense in this world. They want only wealth and not Eswara or God” lovers of liberation and Supreme gnanis (Wise men) want to attain Eswara. So they are away from worldly carvings. With unflinching devotion to their Guru and God, and without any expectation of any reward.
Such selfless seekers will be serving Him and get liberated. The real offering we make to Guru (Master) is devoted obedience and patience. If ever we realise the same and offer to our Guru these self-same verities, then and then only we become entitled to win the grace, of our Guru. If such is our practice in life, our whole life is a full-moon day of life.
In this world, there are and were incarnated Sadgurus of infinite power and compassion who took upon themselves the trouble and miseries of their devotees and thus granted to the devotees peace and happiness. This has ever been a natural phenomenon of SHIRDI SAI BABA, Tajjuddin Baba, Gajanan Maharaj, Vasudevananda Saraswati, SRI SATYA SAI BABA are such yogis and avatars of par excellence. They bore the karmic fate of their devotees. Masterji also took upon himself the woes of his devotee-dependents and saved them, Such instances are a legion. Some were detailed in the last chapter. Some more are narrated in this chapter, which we will learn.
Black Magic:
Once Masterji went to Puttaparti along with Ayyanna, a co-teacher in the High School where he worked. Masterji fell ill at Puttaparti with fever for three days, and He could not eat any thing. On the third day, with difficulty and gathering courage, Masterji proceeded to canteen to have a glass of buttermilk with the help of Ayyanna. Immediately after coming out Masterji vomited and vomited a little blood too. Ayyanna was afraid at the sight but Masterji assured him “No fear” What had to happen, happened. It is inevitable that I should take on my self the suffering of those who reposed faith in me” observed Masterji, and laughed. Ayyanna could grasp the import of the observation and said, “How do we know? Whose fate it is? Masterji replied, “We will know it after we reach Guntur” After three days Masterji returned to Guntur. The next day one gentleman came to Masterji's room, saluted him and sat next to him. Ayyanna was also in company of Masterji; Masterji enquired the visitor “ What news”. The visitor gentleman submitted that he came to narrate an event. He continued to say “that three days back, a man came to my house and asked me “Do you have any Guru or preceptor”? Did he initiate you into any upadesha or with Mantra? Somebody came to me and asked me to perform black magic on you. I did it, but the black magic boomeranged on me. I had blood vomiting. I pray you Masterji, you with your divine power, give me the boon of life” So saying he caught hold of the feet of Masterji. Ayyanna was wonder struck with the narration of the visitor to Masterji. Ayyanna said I know no mantra. With faith in Masterji, I visit Masterji and have his darshan. Then the visitor gentleman said that the inspirer of the black magic desired himself, to be taken to Masterji. The visitor refused, saying that unless Masterji consented, he could not take the evil doer, and seeker. If Masterji consented he (the visitor) would take him to, Masterji. He was in the visitor’s house. This was all the matter. Masterji looked at Ayyanna intently and asked Ayyanna “could you understand” and laughed away the matter. Ayyanna was bewildered at all the event. He was wonder-struck and was staring at Masterji with total joy. Masterji later on looked sternly at the performer of black magic and chided him saying “the attained power must be used for the good of others and for the welfare of the mankind. You should not use them to destroy others. The evil will recoil on you. Open your eyes even now, repent for your actions. Do not repeat this sin again. Pray to God in repentance”. With this spirited advice, Masterji sent him away.
Grandson of Smt. Manikyamma:
In 1986, Masterji undertook pilgrimage with some devotees in a bus. Manikyamma belonging to Bapatla, accompanied Masterji with her three months old Grandson. She desired to get her grandson christened at Shirdi. In the journey and on the way the child boy began to cry in an uncontrollable way. All the inmates of the bus felt that it would be better to consult a Doctor. None thought it would be better to consult a doctor. None thought it better to get the boy cured by the Doctor in the bus, the Masterji. But Valluri. Sitaramamma thought that Masterji was enough to treat the Boy since Masterji was Doctor of doctors. But she did not openly said it. In some village on the way, Doctor was consulted who gave some medicine, which did not work. The boy was about to faint. Savitramma advised Manikyamma to hand over the boy to Masterji, which was done. Masterji assured that in ten minutes, the boy would be alright. No worry. Accordingly he became better in fifteen minutes and the boy happily slept away. In the whole of the journey later, the boy had no trace of illness. Masterji took up on himself the boy’s sickness and suffered for two days. All the devotees in the bus practically witnessed how Masterji took upon himself the troubles of his devotees.
Chaitanya`s Mother:
Masterji cured many people’s woes, caused by evil spirits. One important anecdote, we must especially know is that of the mother or Chaitanya. Chaitanya was a student of J.K.C College, Guntur in B.Com, second year. His father worked in A.I.R service and presently he is working as Branch Manager in Janachaitanya Housing Private Limited, Vijayawada. Chaitanya`s mother Smt Samrajyam was ill for over five years now. She had pains in her knee joint, could not walk or work, was reduced to bed as patient. His brother Harshavardhan and Chaitanya used to do all the household work as their mother suffered untold misery with no peace of mind in bed itself. It appeared that somebody unseen was beating her having entered the house. Samrajyam used to shout at the beatings. She used to shiver and quiver as she was belabored. Chaitanya clearly thought that it could be the hard work of evil spirit or a Ghost But nobody heeded his words. Dr. Kusuma Kumari, Dr Venkata Rao, Dr Bala Bhaskara Rao treated her. Dr Amaranth the orthopedist s treated her with no good results. X-rays and examination, medication costed thousands of rupees and their house was literally a medical shop for her treatment with multiple medicines. But Chaitanya`s father had no belief in the black deeds of evil spirits of ghosts. Chaitanya at one stage thought that death to his mother was a great relief.
One day Rafi, brother of Shaik Rahaman gave a photo of Sri Viswayogi Viswamji to Chaitanya, which attracted him very much. He visited Rafi`s house and learnt many facets of Viswamji`s divinity and he could develop faith in Masterji. One night Chaitanya at midnight woke up, and stood at the photo of Shirdi Sai Baba, hung on the wall. Till then his father did not return home. The photo was presented to Chaitanya by “Ramana” Machiliptnam. Some body knocked the door, opening the door he found it was his father, who told him that “Ramani Swamy has come, please go” Chaitanya ran outside and bowed to the feet of Ramani Swami. Ramani Swamy gave a calendar to Chaitanya and went away to Machilipatnam. While Chaitanya thought it to be a Shirdi calendar, it was a calendar containing the photo of Viswamji, Seeing it Chaitanya felt as having seen Masterji and felt very happy and jumped with joy. Two days back he felt like having a photo of Masterji but he kept the feeling to himself. Now having got Masterji`s photo he experienced inexplicable joy. He woke up his mother and brother and told them that Masterji came to our house. He was shouting and dancing in that ecstatic mood. He hung the picture to the wall waved camphor stick and gave pranam to the same. Health condition of his mother took a turn for the next day. She told Chaitanya to go to Masterji and explain the position. Chaitanya with Rahman visited Masterji and narrated the pitiable tale of his mother. Masterji reassured him that she would regain her good health and all of them would visit Masterji soon. He gave Chaitanya Vibhuti packets and a fruit as Prasad. From next day, Chaitanya`s mother’s condition began to improve. She began walking and was incessantly chanting “Om Sri Sai Ram Gurudeva Datta” Vibrations thus created drove away all the evil spirits. Smt Samrajyam gradually recovered. Later Dr Vijaya lakshmi, of Samata clinic, declared that “she is in normal health and no worry about her” Without seeing a patient Masterji cured Chaitanya`s mother and made her hale and healthy and all the family consider Masterji as a great, miraculous, healer, and Doctor.
Shanti Process:
Sri Sure Subbarao of Pedanandipadu started home from Viswanagar on a motor cycle, and he was very proficient in driving. He was attending construction work at Viswanagar. He never met with an accident minor or major, since he used to drive at 40K.M an hour. But on that day, the motor cycle slipped and fell, throwing him down. He had injuries but the body got heavy and he felt very weak. Somehow on the same motor bike he reached Pedanandipadu and suffered with fever and pains for seven days. His wife came to Masterji who directed that a coconut, wiping it on body be broken and offered as propitiation. She again came to Masterji to report that fever was high enough. Masterji there upon directed that the coconut must be rubbed on the body and be broken. The evil spirit will vanish “Do as directed”, said Masterji. They followed the directions perfectly and the fever vanished. Rama Subbarao recovered completely.
Removal of Swelling of Leg:
Rama Subba Rao`s step mother sustained an injury on the leg as the bus, in which she was traveling fell in a rivulet. She was hospitalised along with other victims. On examination the doctor said that there were no fractures. They bandaged her leg. It gave no relief. Rama Subbarao brought her to Masterji, who examined her leg and said it would be better very soon. Vibhuti mixed with camphor and rub it for three days. It was done accordingly. The swelling abated and she was able to walk and was walking.
Efficacy of Sacred Ash (Vibhuti):
Vibhuti given by Masterji not only cured the disease of the recipients, but its efficacy is all the more great when used in times of great need by devotees for the sufferers. Such instances are many. Devotees keep the Vibhuti (given by Masterji as a protective shield which they deem, on health given and healing alchemy. Once Sri Akella Manikya Murthy couple was returning from Srisailam, with them a Christian couple boarded the bus. The husband was suffering from swelling of his leg. He was shown to doctors at Hyderabad. Doctors over there desired that he should be shown and examined by Dr. Srikant in Guntur. Whereupon they started to Guntur in this bus with their Son-in –law as helpmate. Since getting into the bus, the Christian gentleman was undergoing excruciating pain and was crying. Sri Manikya Murthy in the next seat gave the Vibhuti given to him by Masterji and desired it to be applied to the suffering man, if they had no objection. The couple said that they would consult the father-in-law but they did not .The pain of the leg became unbearable. Manikyamurthy got up from the seat, and said, “apply this Vibhuti to his leg and forehead”. So saying, he gave the Vibhuti packet to the wife of the patient. She applied it as directed and the patient in about five minutes time slept well, till Dornala. The patient himself said to Manikyamurthy, the medicine you gave, gave great relief. Please give some more. Manikyamurthy replied that it was not medicine. It was Vibhuti given by Sri Viswayogi Viswamji, to whom all religionists come, you also visit. Sri. Viswamji. So saying he gave the Vibhuti packet to him. The patient applied it to himself and happily slept till he came to Guntur.
Total Cure Of a Disease:
The daughter of Sri G. Venkateswara Rao of Guntur was very sick since childhood. Any cut or wound on the body would not easily heal. There used to be bleeding. Many doctors examined her and used medicines with no effect. It was attributed that the platelets were less in her body As such “She would have a problem when she attains puberty. Take her to Raivellore to expert doctors. Accordingly they went to Vellore, got her examined and began medication. There was not much of improvement. Sri Venkateswara Rao brought his daughter to Sri Viswamji. He patted her on the back and said that she would be cured and there need be no fear about it. Masterji gave a regimen. “Take the banana flower and draw juice from it, mix it with butter milk, put a pinch of Vibhuti in it and consume the mixture for 40 days, twice a day”. Chant the holy mantra as many times as she can”. The girl sincerely followed the direction of Masterji. In about a week’s time there was great improvement. After 40 days she was totally cured and could gain health.
Sri Kastala Hanumanta Rao, the retired headmaster of Hindu College, High School lived nearby Viswamandir. He is devotee of Lord Shiva, and used to perform Rudrabhishekam everyday and later used to dine. He was adhering to this process of worship even when he visited his son in London. He is very gentle in disposition and had unflinching faith in Masterji. One day he visited Viswamandir, after rendering Pranams to Masterji, he sat in a corner. Masterji enquired Sri Hanumanta Rao, What was your age? He replied he was about to cross 70 years. There upon Masterji told that his planetary position was not that good he had to perform Bhimaratha Shanti and all other propitiatory rites, Sri Hanumanta Rao having listened to Masterji carefully returned home and ruminated over the same. He checked up his astrological chart where it was written that was the possible year of demise .Sri Hanumanta Rao forgot all about it. He wondered how Masterji came to know about it. Accordingly Sri Hanumanta Rao got the propitiatory process done. Masterji supervised all the process and gave his divine blessings.
Heart Disease Subsided:
There was in Mogaltur Dr. Venkata Krishnam Raju who was an upasaka of Sri Rajarajeswari, One Sri Gonalla Sri Ramachander an ardent devotee of Masterji belonged to the same village. He used to visit the doctor often to listen to good discourses. He had to complete B.A. final and he had examinations the next day. That night he had been to Doctor Raju`s house. The Doctor at 11.30 retired to bed but called Sri Ramachander, asked him to give him the tablets from the suitcase. Ramachender gave the tablets and could know that the Doctor had chest pain. Ramachender in all humility said, “because of Masterji, Dr Raju lived, and caught hold of Masterji`s feet saying that ,“except you, Masterji there is no Savior”. If that ardent, is your faith, I will look after every thing”, said Masterji. Ramachendar mixed all Gayatri Mantras and was doing japa as Viswa Gayatri. That Viswa Gayatri Mantra made by him was shown to Masterji, Who advised Ramachendar not to experiment with Mantra. They will recoil adversely, so saying he returned the paper containing Viswa Gayatri Mantra to Ramachender. Ramachender refused to receive them and confirmed the adequacy of “Om Sri Sai Ram Gurudeva Datta”.
A Brahmin becomes Devotee:
Ramachander worshipped in his house in Mogaltur Datta Deva. One day Satyanarayana Vrata , was performed in his house. After the puja , harati was offered. The Brahmin-priest derisively asked Ramachander “would you not give harathi to Dattatreya”. Instantly the camphor lump in the plate got broken into two pieces and one began to burn towards Dattatreya photo. The Brahmin was astounded , and from then on began to develop devotion to Lord Dattatreya. He settled in that devoted animation.
Even by then the doctor was profusely sweating. Ramachander phoned for another Doctor and informed Raju`s brother in Narasapur . Dr Raju was coughing emitting phlegm Sri Ramachander was cleansing, Raju`s mouth , while Raju was battling with death. Ramachender was chanting “ Om Sri Sai Ram Gurudeva Datta” after giving in his mind salutations to Masterji. He was doing chanting for Doctor’s recovery. The doctor who arrived from Narasapur got Dr Raju admitted to hospital. By next day Dr Raju recovered consciousness , Ramachander came to Guntur , took Vibhuti packets from Masterji and administered the same to Raju, who slowly recovered. Later Dr Raju came to Tenali to his brother and came to Guntur. Sri Ramachander took Dr Raju to Masterji who enquired Raju “How are you”. Again asked Masterji “Are you well”. Dr Raju answered “Yes I am well”, Masterji was told by Ramachander that Raju came back to life because of Masterji, who told Ramachander that he lived because of you.
Power Of Chanting God`s Name:
Vadali Visweswara Rao of Kattinga Village of east Godavari District and his family members are ardent devotees of Masterji, who saved them from many a trouble. One day Visweswara Rao was injured in an accident of Maruti van and he was injured in his leg. Doctors on examination, diagnosed that internal bones and arteries are damaged badly and the leg up to the knee was to be removed . Otherwise there is a danger to life. All were awe-stricken. They phoned to Masterji, who asked them to take the patient to Hyderabad. But the doctors were of the opinion that the patient could not be moved. Masterji insisted that the patient should be taken to Hyderabad. With faith in Masterji`s word, and on giving an undertaking to Doctors that it was their personal responsibility to ensure safety of the patient. He was taken to Hyderabad Doctors over there, examined him and he was operated four times there. In spite of surgeons, nobody thought that Visweswara Rao would walk. But Vibhuti of Masterji and Nama japa, chanting of Om Sri Sairam Gurudeva Datta cured him completely . Now he is able to walk as anybody else.
Father-in-law of Smt Vijayalakshmi :
Father-in-law of Smt Vijayalakshmi a seventy-five year old gentleman rendered immobile due to backache, which was very excruciating. He was unable even to move or drink water, much less he could lie down. Doctors found that blood flow was not adequate at the neck and it was to be operated upon. The doctors could not assure safety to life after operation or even cure . He had blood pressure and sugar problems , and his age was not suitable for operation. As a last resort they came to Masterji, who gave them packets of Vibhuti. Masterji instructed them to rub the Vibhuti on the back and incessantly chant the name of the Lord. For total relief it would take some time was the observation of Masterji. They did as instructed, month by month there was relief. He is now able to walk on his own, write and eat properly. Even the Doctors were amazed at his recover
Faith Is the Medicine:
Sri Chianti Sambasiva Gupta was working in a readymade dress shop. In 1991 he had a heart attack. He wanted to go and join the Nizam`s hospital in Hyderabad , but he was not admitted therein . He phoned to Masterji, who instructed him to go and ask again and answered that he would be admitted. Accordingly , in a second attempt he was admitted. All necessary examinations were done and they said operation was not necessary. They administered a course medication. He was totally cured. At present he is worshipping the Padukas of Masterji as per the mode of worship.
One day, the five-year-old son of Gupta got paralysis of the left part of the speech system. Reputed doctors like Sri Bayya Srinivasa Rao examined him and said that there was no medicine for the same. There upon, Sri Gupta , brought his son to Masterji who predicted improvement. The prescription suggested was the betel and Tulasi leaves, to be boiled and give a dose of this mixture morning and evening to the boy. A week’s treatment brought about 80% improvement.
Great Grandson of Ramarayudu:
The grand daughter of Ramarayudu, Smt. Madhavi(Madhu), became pregnant after six years with the graceful blessings of Masterji. Her grandmother Smt. Lakshmikantamma, brought her to their home for delivery. Madhu was brought to Masterji who gave her blessings. After full months one day in the early morning hours labour pains began. Lakshmikantamma phoned to Masterji, who assured her safe delivery, and advised to admit her grand daughter in the hospital. Accordingly Lakshmikantamma admitted her in Dr Kaza Prasunamba`s hospital. Having examined the girl, the doctor decided upon operation immediately and Lakshmikantamma was stricken with fear. Sri Ramarayudu was in Nagapur. She rang up Masterji who gave her courage and blessings. Dr Prasunamba conducted the operation all by her self, and brought out the baby boy. The infant drank the fluid and was not able to breathe properly. Dr Prasunamba got the boy examined by three other doctors who said there was no hope, but Masterji interceded saying that there was no fear, the boy would recover. In three days time the baby boy totally recovered and was well up.
Knee Joint pain Relieved:
Guntupalli Venkateswara Rao was suffering from pain in the knee for over two years by then. He was not able to walk even. Despite the use of many medicines he had no relief. The pains recurred again and again. Masterji prescribed the rubbing of “Vibhuti” all the three times of the day and chanting of “Om Sri Sai Ram Guru Deva Datta” as many times as possible. Sri Venkateswara Rao followed the instructions of Masterji carefully. He was totally relieved of the knee pains in three days.
Mrutyunjayadu:
Sri N.A.S. Sastry, head of department of Hindu College admitted his grandson in 1987 in the hospital. He was the son of his eldest daughter Mrs. Venkata Jaya Lakshmi. Doctor said “no hope”
.
From Hyderabad, Sastry received a phone message to get the boy to Hyderabad. Sastry went to Masterji, who contemplated upon the problem and gave Akshatas and Vibhuti. At the same time , the doctors in Hyderabad were saying that there was no use of treating him. The parents of the boy persuaded the doctor to treat him, who is also the superintendent of the hospital. .Saline was injected. Till then the boy had no consciousness. Thereupon the boy opened his eyes. By evening , Sastry reached hospital and learnt that saline was given at the moment, that he met Masterji at Guntur. Sastry felt that the grace of Masterji can travel any distance. It transcends distance. It heals like the looks of tortoise from afar. His mercy can cure and drive away pains and illness. Sastry put Vibhuti on the forehead of the boy and placed Akshatas under the pillow. In three days, the boy recovered. Later, when he was brought to Masterji, Masterji named him as Mrutyunjayudu.
Calamity Averted:
In Viswamandir in1956, an incident took place. At the time of the incident, Masterji was residing in railpet, in Kuppa Satyanarayana Sastri`s house. Sri Akula Koteswara Rao and his wife Eswari along with other devotees were sitting around Masterji in Viswamandir. In those days, ever Masterji called anybody by name, he or she would experience great joy. If Masterji accepted prasadam brought by anybody they felt extremely happy. If Masterji entrusted any work to any body they thought, it was their good luck. Such was the outlook of Bhaktas in those days. Towards Masterji the devotees had worshipful adoration . None would dare to go to Masterji unless, he called them or talked to them. That afternoon in Viswamandir, Masterji asked “Eswari, I want to have tea. Can you prepare and get for me. Considering it a boon to have been asked for, Eswari ran literally to prepare tea into the kitchen room in the backyard. Meanwhile all of them heard a cry from Eswari “Masterji” everybody rushed into the kitchen room and witnessed, Eswari on the ground with slightly burnt face because of the huge flames from the stove affecting her face. In that moment of crises, Masterji ,Koteswara Rao, kept their cool. Masterji got sandalwood paste prepared and applied the same to the face of Eswari. He was waving with a fan on her face. It was a sight to see the Masterji epitome of compassion doing service to a devotee. Eswari opened her eyes and Masterji with a motherly heart and tender tone enquired “How are you Eswari?” “It was on account of me , you were subjected to this ordeal”. On hearing these merciful words, Eswari`s eyes were bedewed with tears. She thought of his limitless compassion and viewed the incident as light, which happened to make her experience the karmic fate, lightly. She correctly thought that the Masterji saved her thus from a major calamity. She evaluated Masterji as a life giver and Godly form, who took on himself, the blame for sending Eswari to prepare tea. His heart according to Eswari was icy- tender . He was there holding her an umbrella in the face of a possible cruel fate and its machination. Eswari rightly wondered that divinity and its nature will be as Masterji in time of need with the tone of a mother, father and God.”. She got up and began to move about. Everybody heaved a deep sigh of relief. Thus Masterji rescued Eswari twice from the jaws of death. Another rescue operation was elsewhere mentioned in this book which all of us might note
Cure Of Uncontrolled Urination:
To a resident of Varagani village Sri Addepalli Nageswara Rao, a son was born. On the third day of his birth, it was found out that a nerve came out of the spinal card. Doctor operated upon him. Since then the infant-boy was passing urine twenty to thirty times a day. Being rich Nageswara Rao showed him to many doctors. Spent lot of money but there was no benefit. That doctors on the other hand said the boy would regain health gradually by the time he attains fifteen years of age. But Nageswara Rao was getting his son cured by medication. The boy attained three years of age. One day Masterji visited Pedanandipadu near Varagani to give a lecture. There Nageswara Rao met Masterji. He brought his son to Viswamandiram. Even as he was brought the boy was urinating and all in Viswamandiram could see the same. Masterji had put some Vibhuti in the boy’s mouth and said “do not worry, he will be cured”. He directed the boy to be placed before him for an hour. In that hour, the boy did not pass any urine. From the next day, the disease began to decrease and gradually it is cured.
Saviour, Sai Datta :
In 1989, Sri Vidyasagar Sarma along with certain friends started one night in a jeep to attend the marriage of a friend’s daughter in a jeep to a village near Nandigama. The jeep was being driven by an electrical assistant engineer by name Avasarala Satyanarayana. In the jeep Sri Sarma was seated in the front seat along with Sri Putumbaka Srikrishna Prasad, an ex-chairman of state government corporation. In the rear, there were eight passengers. Three miles before Nandigama in a turning, there was a deep pit called by all as a “Death cell”. Many accidents took place at that spot. Whoever fell in that pit never survived. The way was new to all, added to it, it was pitch dark. The jeep was moving quickly and it fell in the said pit. Sri Vidyasagara Sarma was chanting the Mantra “Om Sri Sai Ram Gurudeva Datta” since they started in Madhira. Each one of the occupants could come out one by one in the total darkness from the topsy-turvy jeep in the pit. No body knew what happened to each of them. They enquired after each other and except for scratching none were injured. All felt that because of Sri Vidyasagara Sarma and his japa, all were saved.
Sri Sarma in turn replied that Sai Datta saved them and the Mantra became their protective shield and armour. But Sri Sairam Gurudeva Datta, all would have been in the embraces of Urvasi and Menaka, joked sri Vidyasagara Sarma. The damaged jeep was brought out from the pit and was pushed by all of them up to Nandigama.
Cancer Removed:
Sri Padali Somayajulu of Kattangi village had vomitings for 15 days. He had immense devotion towards Masterji,. One night he had visionary experience that a great light entered his body and that Masterji was sitting besides him. On another night, he saw in a dream a boy with skin disease all over the body and in a naked posture. After two more days, Sri Somayajulu was admitted to the hospital in Rajahmundry.
The doctor conducted on him all tests. His daughter Smt Lakshmi telephoned to Masterji from Amalapuram and appraised him of her father’s condition. Masterji replied saying that her father had cancer, in the advanced stage. She was wonder struck at the revelation by Masterji from such a distance even without seeing the patient. Medical reports after few days confirmed that it was cancer at an advanced stage.
The doctors were of the opinion that it could not be operated upon and the patient would live for a short time. Every body was sad beyond limits. Masterji advised them to take the patient to Hyderabad on telephone and accordingly the patient was taken to Hyderabad. Incidentally, Masterji came to Hyderabad at that time. With the blessings of Masterji, he was taken to doctors. The doctors gave the same diagnosis as advanced cancer not operable. The condition of Sri Somayajulu was being intimated to Masterji on and after. The doctors decided operation. However at the time, just before operation Masterji arrived there in saffron robes, got up the stairs and walked into the operation theater. This was physically witnessed by all and the members of sri Somayajulu`s family. The operation was successful. In Rajahmundry, the patient had 90% cancer in his body. With Masterji`s blessings the situation changed and it was detected that cancer was in the early stage. All heaved a sigh of relief. Later doctors began bio therapy on Somayajulu, whereupon he totally recovered, and regained health. Somayajulu in grateful tone narrated the foregoing on the 48th birthday celebration of Masterji in Guntur and prostrated to Masterji who advised him to be careful in food habits to avoid all untoward situations.
Asthma Cured:
Smt Guntupalli Tulasamma of Gottipadu village was suffering from Asthma for a long time and she was suffering untold misery because of the same. Once she was admitted in Guntur government hospital. Doctors on examination said there was no hope since the disease became incurable and she would not live long. Sri Guntupalli Veerabhadra Rao, her relative and cousin was a veteran devotee of Masterji. For over two years he was under vow and penance, as ordained by Masterji for forty days each time before Datta Jayanti and won the title “Diksha Daksha”, meaning “Veteran Devotee”. He visited the hospital to see her. He was over taken with pity and compassion for Tulasamma, who was undergoing great suffering. His heart melted. Instantaneously, a Vibhuti packet was given to him by Masterji, he applied to her forehead and put a pinch of it in her mouth. He advised her to chant “Om Sri Sai Ram Gurudeva Datta”. Though she could not so far see Masterji and had Darshan, she followed what Veerabhadra Rao said. Thereupon Veerabhadra Rao came to Masterji and informed all that he had done and as Masterji predicted that her Asthma would be cured. No sooner the Vibhuti had gone into throat and……….. low, she began to breath freely and in a week, she completely recovered and gained good health.
The doctors who gave up hope were wonder struck at Tulasamma`s complete recovery. They said that some super human power which they could not understand protected her. Thus the doctors complimented Tulasamma.
Changed Heart:
Tulasamma along with Veerabhdra Rao and his wife later came to Masterji to give her gratitude. Along with her brother, Sri Lanka Satyanarayana came and joined her in Viswa Mandir. His economic condition was very unsatisfactory and was in deeply harsh circumstances. His mind was torn with strife and he was bent upon committing suicide. He sat in a corner in Viswa Mandir. Masterji was giving a discourse at that time. On seeing Lanka Satyanarayana Masterji observed, there is no man on earth without problems. Any man could not be baffled by problems. Instead, he should analyse as to why those problems arose. He should undertake introspection to know the root cause for the arising of those problems and correct his behaviour and thus boldly face problems and solve them. With timidity at heart, he should not think of ending his life, which is given by God as valuable gift. Life must be used to help others and get blissful happiness from such service. Do not commit the sin of suicide.
Nobody in the assembly could understand as to whom Masterji was addressing this advice and to whom. After fifteen minutes, Masterji turned towards Lanka Satyanarayana and asked laughingly,” Did you understand this is all, for you. Satyanarayana`s bad thoughts subsided immediately and felt that Masterji showed him a way of life to live and prostrated to Masterji in a spirit of surrender. He arose from the feet of Masterji with newly filled hope and charged enthusiasm and acknowledged openly that Masterji granted him new lease of life. He declared that Masterji is not a simple human being. He is a super Mahaniya. All could get a message that Maha Yogis , on seeing the faces of people would understand their circumstances and this was a time-tested truth all times.
Similar incident took place when Masterji was in railpet in a room. One day Masterji was talking over with visiting devotees some aspects. At that time , one gentleman came into the room. The visitor was so vexed with his family members and decided to commit suicide jumping into the Krishna river. Before doing so, he wanted to have darshan of Masterji, who was talking in his usual tone and intention. If ever Masterji, wanted to tell something pointedly to anybody, he will talk it out generally as if the topic concerns everybody.
The import and intent of the talk will be for some one particularly, who will sufficiently understand the same. Others simply listen as they do not know what it is? Masterji narrated a story. One day Saint Sripada Sri Vallabha came to take bath in Krishna river, when he saw mother and son, who also came there to jump in the river and die. Sri Vallabha restrained them ,from their deadly effort and turned them to life. With that illustration, Masterji added “Joys and sorrows are like darkness and moon light in human life. In life troubles would haunt men. In the pursuit of happiness, man will face difficulties. However there is immense joy if there are no desires and if one is contended with what he has. We must learn to face difficulties. Pleasure will follow pain. He who labours will thrive and be happy. He said that he knew men who sold eatables in the streets, those who sold beatle nut powder and coffee powder and earned a fortune later. They earned lakhs of rupees by their hard work and toil. Also he said he know some who ruined themselves with drunkenness and gambling. Lessons must be learnt looking at their examples. Those who face life as a challenge will ever prosper and will be happy. Those who attempt to kill themselves are cowards and are very unwise.
If ever a man wants to beat back problems he must pray God and seek the help of the divine forms namely yogis. With their grace and help the seeker must develop his forbearance, and power, develop spiritual power which is an antidote to life’s problems. Every one must acquire ,attain spiritual power and put into practice in one’s life and in the verities of life. TRUTH, CHARACTER, POVERTY and Unity these indeed are the four pillars to Divine or divinity. So saying Masterji kindly laughed at the man who came to see blessings for committing suicide. This man after everybody left, with tears in eyes and prostration unto Masterji declared that he would never allow the thought of suicide into his brain again in his life time. With the new life force given to him by Masterji, he began new life and today he is renowned rich person, with name, fame and prosperity.
Devotee Freed From Drink Habit :
Maddi Nagaprasad of Pasumarru village was a gold merchant in Chilakaluripet. He had drinking habit. Through his brother-in –law Dasari Nageswara Rao he came to Masterji. Seeing Nagaprasad Masterji cautioned him saying “Give up drinking liquor, do not drive a scooter in drunkenness”. Masterji then gave him a photo of his to Nagaprasad. Having been very much in drinking habit he disregard Masterji`s advise, was going on his scooter to Chilakaluripet from Guntur, when he dashed against a lorry. He sustained injuries on his head and was in a pool of blood. Passers-by saw him and the address in his pocket book and joined him in Guntur hospital. Nagaprasad felt and believed that the photo of Masterji in his pocket and the Mantra, the hymn “OM SRI SAI RAM GURUDEVA DATTA” saved his life. After admitting him in the hospital his brother-in-law Dasari Nageswara Rao came to Masterji and informed him of the accident. Masterji assured him . There need be no fear, he will recover and recover soon. Masterji gave him Akshtas and Vibhuti to Prasad. Masterji visited the hospital and blessed Naga Prasad who recovered very soon. Doctors advised operation to the head. The patient Naga Prasad refused saying that Masterji`s Vibhuti will be the greatest Savior. With such ardent faith, he regained complete health. He gave up drinking and today he is an ardent devotee of Sri Viswamji.
Savior of the Seeker in Distress:
Mrs. Radha wife of Sri M. Narasimha Murthy, Head of the Chemistry Department, Hindu College Guntur has been a great devotee of Viswamji. She and Mr. Murthy used to perform Mantrajapa sincerely, with purity Radha one day, did lit the stove to prepare coffee and mentally chanting “OM SRI SAI RAM GURU DEVA DATTTA”. Her sari caught fire without her knowledge flames lit up, Murthy ran into the kitchen but was wonder struck to find the flames were put off by an unseen hand having rubbed away the sari. If the flames touched Radha, she would have been reduced to ashes. She asserted and said that the Namajapa being made till then, saved her and says even today whenever she thought of the event. Though her mother tongue was not Telugu, in blessedness and with love towards Masterji, she wrote the book titled “Viswa Geeti” and dedicated the same to the feet of Masterji.
At another time, she fell unconscious in her house. Mr. Murthy showed her to doctors who suspected paralysis. Murthy ran to Masterji and wept after narrating the whole incident and doctor’s view. Masterji consoled him and assured him that it was not paralysis “Get all the medical tests done, you yourselves will know”. It is the effect of a thyroid gland. That is why she is not able to talk well. Show her to an E.N.T specialist. Ask her to apply Vibhuti to the painful part. The pain will decrease and disappear. With these directions Masterji gave Vibhuti. Radha used medicines for a week and became normal. She visited Masterji later touching his feet, paid gratitude saying “Your Mantra , Swami gave me new life”.
So various and many have been and were the experiences of devotees. Only names are different . Leela or the miracle is the same. It is the efficacy and sanctified eminence of the Name and its healing power as above, that of Vibhuti, the Mantra, the Vibhuti, the thought and grace of Viswamji granted and gave peace to devotees and became the Wish-fulfilling tree.
